Buy these pictures ...

This is one of those occasions where we catch really good lighting conditions at our venues. We don't get them often, but when we do, the images really snap :)

Here's a sample of one of those style shots, early in the morning where the sun was just peeking over the edge of the dam where the triathletes had to hammer up the face to head out on the bike course. (and this dude did it out of his shoes) Waaaaay down below you can see the swim exit flagging leading to the transition area.

Travel Scenes

Unlike the title says, most of our "travel scenes" will typically have either bicycles, lycra, or some other sweaty dude or dudette in them ... just like below. We've covered several races in the past month. Some at gorgeous venues, some at duck ponds.

The race scenes below include a mixed race - all the guys sitting on the edge of the dock *almost* ready to torque it right off it's foundation; and an all female race. Believe-you-me a 6'3" male photographer sticks out in that crowd.

Enjoy!

There & Back Again ...

It's nice to know when you've been missed. Our file server missed us so much that it tried to come looking for us .... having your website down for a week-ish not only tries your patience, drains the Pepto bottle, and rustles your sleep habits - it also shoots sales right in the @$$. But, one can't worry over things we can't right control - right? ... yeah, right ....

Many of you (ok, only a couple of you) have noticed that our blog entries have been downright absent for about a month. Well, what can I say other than we've been a) on the road b) on vacation c) didn't care .... mostly a), a little of b) and well, probably more of c) that I'd care to admit.

It doesn't mean that we haven't been shooting though. Our travels have taken us thru the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia & back again.

The wet, young lady in the photo above woke me out of a dead sleep on the front porch to "get your camera - you gotta see this" .... the picture says it all, needless to say never leave 2 female photographers alone with too much time on their hands.

Also, we've all heard the phrase "when in Rome .... " well, in Possum-ville they play Bingo every Tuesday night at the American Legion hall. It's an experience well worth having at least once. (I had mine, now I don't want anymore). I did win $10, but donated it back to my mom-in-law since she bought our cards. I also inhaled enough second hand smoke to choke a goat.

You know it's time to leave the Beach when ...

An airplane crashes 150 feet from where you were just swimming !

No $#%& .... this thing crapped out right in front of the building where we were staying - it's one of the little planes that pulls the banners along the coast (eat at whoever's, etc.) ....

One of the possum photog's walked down to put her feet in the water, heard loud pops, looked up and this thing was headed toward her ... needless to say she beat feet back towards land, just as this thing did an ass-over in front of her ... wow, talk about being born under a lucky sign :)

It's amazing how little these things really are close-up, and how little they're made of - aluminum, canvas, spit, fodder-twine, etc.

Road Shots ....

Catching up ... on the road

Summertime leads the 'ole possum trail across the Carolinas from Mountains to the coast and back again, and back again, and back again ... is there an echo on this keyboard? Needless to say we don't spend a whole lot of time in the office, and much of our time is spend off the grid from wi-fi, emails, voicemails and a lot of the other stuff that we used to do without about 10 years ago ...

I'll post a few shots in the next post, just to give you an idea where we've been - kinda like playing "where's waldo, with a 9,000# van and a couple of photographers. If you can figure where we are (or have been) please tell me - I'm getting dizzy ....

I will give you a hint with the image to the left .... we're on a boat. (tee-hee) I like riding on a boat in the van ... I feel like I'm steering the ship. Kinda like Maggie Simpson with the steering wheel mounted on her car seat.

More Assault on Mt. Mitchell ....

Not the most exciting finish line, since the Dept of the Interior puts pretty strict guidelines on the event folks as to what they can and can't do, but hey - after 102 miles leading up to this mountain, the riders are pretty much comatose when they arrive.

You could bring in a bus load of Hooters girls and some of these guys would probably peddle on by. Lastly, a couple of shots of the finish chute from the photographers point of view. The first, a normal rider plugging across, the other - an attention getter - note that this guy almost ended up in the tent with me after doing his little victory dance on the bike .... I'd be happy to get off the bike too :)
